Research Profile

Biography

Unmesha Roy Paladhi is an epidemiologist and post-doctoral research associate at the Brown Global Alliance for Infant and Maternal Health Research (Global AIM). Dr. Roy Paladhi's research is focused on the interplay of diet, microbiome, and metabolomics during pregnancy in low- and middle-income settings. Previously, she worked in Kenya (HIV self-testing in partner settings), Bangladesh (breastfeeding patterns), and on domestic projects in the US (Crohn's Disease and diet studies).

Dr. Roy Paladhi studied biological sciences at Drexel University, public health at the University of Pennsylvania, and obtained her doctorate in epidemiology from the University of Washington. She is passionate about working with students and her mentors and using rigorous epidemiological methods to investigate the impact of novel interventions in low- and middle-income countries to optimize the delivery of care for women and infants in settings where this innovation is most needed to reduce healthcare disparities across the world.
